Rodrigo Mejía Saldarriaga SJ (born September 5, 1938 in Medellín , Colombia ) is a Jesuit and emeritus Vicar Apostolic of Soddo in Eritrea .

Life

Rodrigo Mejía Saldarriaga joined the Congregation of the Jesuits in and received on 13 December 1969, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He was u. a. worked as director of the Galilee Center of Addis Ababa .

On January 5, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . Vicar Apostolic of Soddo-Hosanna , Eritrea, and Titular Bishop of Vulturia . The episcopal ordination received Mejía Saldarriaga on 4 March 2007 by the Archbishop of Addis Ababa Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Ethiopia , Archbishop Ramiro Moliner Inglés , and his predecessor as Vicar Apostolic, Domenico Crescentino Marinozzi OFMCap .

After the division of the Apostolic Vicariate on January 20, 2010, he became Vicar Apostolic of Soddo .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on January 12, 2014.
