The Roewe 750 is a passenger car from the Chinese brand Roewe . The vehicle is a visually and technically revised Rover 75 . In the export, the model is offered as MG 750 using badge engineering .
The car is visually different from the Rover 75, both in the front and in the rear. In addition, the wheelbase and overall length have been extended by around ten centimeters, so that the vehicle now represents the upper middle class. The middle class is filled with the newly developed Roewe 550 .
A 1.8-liter turbo engine with 118 kW, which is similar to that of the former Rover 75, serves as the standard engine. The most powerful variant of the model consists of a 2.5-liter V6 engine, which has an output of 135 kW. The equipment variants in the entertainment area have been expanded. ESP is not available, with a maximum of four airbags, the Roewe 750 offers two fewer than the original Rover 75 and the MG 7 offered at the same time .
The original plan was to start selling the Roewe 750 in autumn 2008 through the SsangYong Motor Company's dealer network in Germany. However, Ssangyong previously stopped selling its cars in Germany.
In 2010, SAIC presented a revised Roewe 750 at the automobile exhibition in Shanghai. In the previous year, SAIC had presented the first model versions with hybrid drive as well as a purely electric version to the global public.
Production of the Roewe 750 ended on November 9, 2016.
