Rogério "Pará" de Souza Ferreira (born September 13, 1973 in Belém , Brazil ) is a former Brazilian beach volleyball player and world champion .

Career

Pará started his beach career in 1994 with Guilherme Marques . In 1996 they won their first tournament, and in 1997 they won the first official beach volleyball world championship in Los Angeles . In 1998 Guilherme / Pará became FIVB World Tour Champion after four wins, a second and two third places , in the same year the two South Americans won the gold medal at the Goodwill Games in New York's Central Park , after which they won Karch Kiraly and Adam Johnson in the final had defeated. In 1999, Marques and Pará finished third in the beach volleyball world championship, and they were unable to win a victory on the FIVB Tour that year, although they made it to the finals five times.

After Guilherme ended his international career in July 2000, Pará continued his international career with various partners until 2010. He won an FIVB tournament in 2002 with Harley Marques and in 2004 with Pedro Cunha .
