Roger Blank
Roger Blank (born December 19, 1938 in New York ) is an American jazz musician ( drums , percussion ).
Live and act
Blank played in Sun Ra Arkestra from 1964 , a. a. heard on the records Other Plane of There and The Heliocentric Worlds of Sun Ra . Furthermore he worked during this time a. a. also with Archie Shepp , Walt Dickerson , Pharoah Sanders , Ed Blackwell and Albert Ayler , in the early 1970s also with Earl Cross , the Jazz Composer's Orchestra and the Melodic Art Tentet (including Charles Brackeen , Ahmed Abdullah , William Parker and Ronnie Boykins ), also in the Andrew Hill trio with Richard Davis ( Nefertiti 1976), with Frank Foster and Jimmy Lyons ( Push Pull , HatHut Records , 1979). The last recordings were made in 1992 in the Azanyah formation . In the field of jazz he was involved in 21 recording sessions between 1964 and 1992. In later years, Blank lived with his family in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg , where he also taught.
