Rolf Cizmek
Rolf Cizmek (born September 7, 1936 in Zurich ; † July 17, 2013 in Grüningen ) was a jazz bassist from the Swiss canton of Zurich .
Live and act
Cizmek, who began on the accordion, taught himself to play the bass violin . From 1954 to 1961 he was a member of the Tremble Kids , with whom he had appearances at home and abroad and released several albums.
After a musical break, in 1980 he began to organize jazz matinées in Grüningen ZH and in the “Widder” restaurant in Zurich. He was also a member of the Zürcher Oberland Jazzband , the String Jazz Quartet and the Buck Town Jazzband . From 1999 to 2009 he played in The Saints Jazz Band . In the field of jazz, Tom Lord recorded 28 recording sessions between 1956 and 2006, including albums by Albert Nicholas , Charly Antolini and Joe Turner .
From 1997 to 2006 he was a non-party member of the Grüningen municipal council.
