Rolf Gartz

Rolf Gartz (born December 23, 1940 in Bonn ) is a German cell biologist and biochemist.

Life

Rolf Gartz was born on December 23, 1940 in Bonn. In 1964 Gartz passed the central high school diploma at the English Institute boarding school in Heidelberg . He then began studying physics ( atomic physics ), chemistry ( biochemistry ) and biology ( cell biology ) at the universities in Bonn and Cologne. In 1969 he completed his studies with a doctorate to become a Dr. rer. nat. at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn. In 1970 he began a civil service career in Rhineland-Palatinate and worked as a government director until 1990 .

He has been a board member of the German Technion Society since 2008 . From January 1990 to December 2015 he was the managing director of the German Eduard Rhein Foundation for Information Technology.
