Rolf Hasenclever (born May 25, 1928 in Lüdenscheid ; † November 18, 2008 in Ebenau , Austria) was a German engineer , entrepreneur and association official, as well as an author and jazz musician .

Life

Rolf Hasenclever was the son of Hugo Hasenclever, who founded a craft business in Lüdenscheid in 1924.

In 1949 Rolf Hasenclever joined his father's company. In 1960 he invented the first modular system for manufacturing injection molding tools . This patented invention sparked an increase in productivity not only in his own company, but also in the entire plastics industry. While each tool was unique back then, the company founder of HASCO Hasenclever GmbH + Co KG Lüdenscheid dealt with the essential functional parts of an injection molding tool. He developed standardized components that could be manufactured in large numbers with the highest precision. The set-up times have been reduced to a third of the time. Hasenclever recognized the importance of CAD at an early stage.

In the 1970s and 1980s he was President of the Federal Metal Association and from 1975 President of the International Metal Union (IMU), founded in Zurich in 1954 , from which the European Metal Union (EMU) emerged. He wrote several books and was also a member of the board of Signal Iduna Insurance .

Rolf Hasenclever was also active as a jazz musician, was the initiator and 1959 co-founder of the Jazz Club Lüdenscheid eV in 1957

In 1981, Hasenclever redesigned the family coat of arms for himself and his descendants.
