Rolf Woyke

Rolf Woyke (born April 17, 1936 in Vlotho ; † March 14, 2019 in Burbach (Siegerland) ) was a German Protestant pastor , long-time federal pastor of the EC Association , chairman of the German tent mission and author.

Live and act

Rolf Woyke grew up in Bochum, where he got to know the EC youth association during his childhood . After graduating from high school, he studied Protestant theology in Wuppertal , Göttingen , Tübingen , Vienna and Münster . After his first theological exam, he worked from 1961 to 1963 as a travel secretary for the Student Mission in Germany (SMD). After the parish vicariate and the second theological exam, he worked from 1964 to 1971 and from 1981 until his retirement in 2001 as a parish pastor in Burbach-Wahlbach.

From 1987 to 2007 Woyke was chairman of the German Tent Mission (DZM). From 1971 to 1981 he was additionally theological director (federal pastor) of the youth association “Decided for Christ” (EC / Kassel). Under his leadership the EC pastoral work was launched in October 1979 and in 1982 he initiated the EC pastoral care center. From 1973 to 1992 he was also chairman of the German Evangelist Conference (Dillenburg) and for several years until 1993 he was on the main board of the German Evangelical Alliance (Bad Blankenburg). Woyke was married to his wife Irmhild and had three children with her.

He was co-editor of the Bible reading plan, Start in den Tag, which has been published annually since 1984 . Inspiration for reading the Bible , ZDB -ID 631588-4 .
