Roman Czartoryski

Roman Adam August Wilhelm Clemens Prince Czartoryski (* 23. November 1839 in Berlin , † on the night of February 18th to the 19th February 1887 in Jablonowo , Kreis Kolmar ) was a German politician and member of the Reichstag .

Live and act

After attending grammar school, Czartoryski devoted himself to studying law in Bonn, Berlin and Breslau. After that he was a farmer on his manor Sarbinowo in Poznan. Its involvement in the January Uprising in 1863 it became a fortress prison convicted. He was a member of the board of directors of the Bninski trading company. He played a key role in founding the Polish newspaper Kurier Poznański.

Roman Czartoryski was a staunch Polish nationalist who advocated the reunification of Poland . This also resulted in his political commitment. He received his political baptism of fire in the January uprising of 1863 at the latest. In 1867 he was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives in the constituency of Marienwerder 3 (Löbau) in 1867 and from 1870 to 1873 . There he was not officially a member of any parliamentary group, but vehemently represented the rights of the Polish minority.

In 1867 Roman Czartoryski was elected to the Reichstag of the North German Confederation and from 1871 to 1881 to the Reichstag . He was sent there by the constituency of Poznan administrative district 5. In the Reichstag he belonged to the Polish parliamentary group , of which he was a co-founder in the Reichstag of the North German Confederation in 1867 .
