Beginnings

In Juazeiro do Norte Angelim joined the Icasa EC in 1996 . At the club he played until 1998. After that, he received only short-term engagements in 1999 and 2000. With Ituano FC he was able to play first -class for the first time in 2000, but this can still be seen as an exception. In the 2000 season all clubs in the Série A to C played in this class.

Fortaleza EC

In 2001 Angelim came under contract with Fortaleza EC . With the club he was able to win titles for the first time. In his first year he won the Ceará State Championship . A success that was repeated in 2003, 2004 and 2005. The following year, his club was second in the Série B table and thus managed to move up to the Série A for 2003. As 23rd Fortaleza had to relegate again at the end of the season . In 2004, the club with Angelim was again second in the Série B and managed direct promotion. In 2005 the club was able to keep the class. During the season Angelim was so positive that he was appointed to an All Star Team (Seleção das Estrelas) of the league, which played the Jogo des Estrelas (Game of Stars) against the winner of the championship.

CR Flamengo

The big clubs in Brazil also became aware of Angelim during the season. So he accepted a change offer from Flamengo Rio de Janeiro for the 2006 season . With the Copa do Brasil 2006 Angelim was able to celebrate a big title in his first year at FLA. This was only followed by various other national titles. The biggest of these was winning the championship in 2009 . A personal award during this time was the comment made by world champion Ronaldo on a television program in 2008 . Regarding his strong game against strikers and accepting the ball, he said that he thinks Angelim is the ideal defender.

Finale

After Angelim left FLA at the end of 2011, he initially had no new contract for the 2012 season. It was only in April that it became known that he had signed a contract with Grêmio Barueri . The contract ran until the end of the year. With the club he entered the B series.

Angelim returned to Fortaleza for the 2013 season. After the contract was only concluded for hosting the state championship, the parties extended it in March 2013 to the end of the year.

After his official resignation in 2013, he was first honored as an outstanding player on the FLA website. In 2015, a game between FLA and his first club Icasa took place in his honor .
