Ronald "Ronnie" McCluskey (born November 3, 1936 in Johnstone , † June 23, 2011 in Dunbar ) was a Scottish football goalkeeper .

Career

Ronnie McCluskey was born in Johnstone, Scotland, in 1936. He started his career in the Scottish city of Fife at Rosyth Recreation in the 1950s . From the 1956/57 season , the goalkeeper played for three years at the Scottish first division club FC East Fife . At the end of the season 1957/58 he rose with the club as penultimate from the first division. McCluskey clearly missed the direct return to first class with the Fifers in the second division season 1958/59 with 8th place. A season later, he was only penultimate in Division Two with the club . Then McCluskey moved in 1960, to the English club Accrington Stanley , who had previously been relegated to the Fourth Division . After only one season and four league appearances, he left the Accrington club . McCluskey then worked for Gravesend & Northfleet .
