Rosenberg (Vienna)
Rosenberg is one of the 89 Viennese cadastral communities . The small area is located on Rosenhügel in the 13th district of Vienna Hietzing and extends over an area of only 40.63 hectares.
Rosenberg borders in the north on the Hietzingen district of Speising , in the south and west on Mauer and in the east on Atzgersdorf . The area is thus enclosed on three sides by the 23rd district of Liesing . Geologically speaking, Rosenberg belongs to the geological stage of the Sarmatian , the second youngest sediment layer in the Vienna Basin .
The result is Rosenberg on May 5, 1908 with the incorporation of part of the then independent municipality Wall to Vienna , which for the construction of by Nathaniel Meyer Rothschild donated Neurological Center of the City of Vienna was needed. The hospital, which opened in 1912, still occupies a large part of the cadastral community with its park. The Rosenhügel water reservoir of the first Viennese spring water pipeline , which was completed in 1873, is located in Rosenberg . The name Rosenberg is used by the Haus Rosenberg retirement home and the Rosenberg allotment garden .
The construction of residential houses and thus the permanent settlement of Rosenberg took place relatively late. In the 1960s, a residential complex with community buildings was built along the Am Rosenberg road .
