occupation

Rosenstiehl is a German comedy film by Stefan Weiß from 2005. Weiß not only directed this, but was also a scriptwriter, producer and film editor with Zsuzsanna Racz . In 2006 the film received the special award for best feature film at the Festival of Nations in Ebensee ( Austria ), as well as the Ebenseer Bear in Gold.

action

The nurse Sylvia learns from the care of the elderly patient Elisabeth Rosenstiehl of a famous gold robbery in the 50s, in which she allegedly participated in her younger years. Out of curiosity and a thirst for adventure, Sylvia tries to find out more about Ms. Rosenstiehl's fascinating past and, with the help of her friend Robert, goes in search of a supposed treasure. Robert, who is just a budding lawyer shortly before the exams, has no head for Sylvia's reckless and criminal fantasies and bitterly opposes it. When Sylvia unwaveringly comes up with more and more facts and information, he too slowly begins to ponder and does his own research. He discovers more than he expected and so one night both of them find themselves in full burglar gear in the apartment of a stranger looking for the treasure.

background

The short film , made in 2005 , was shot in Munich based on an idea by Stefan Weiß and Andrea Sokol without any financial support from German funding agencies. Thanks to their perseverance (16 days of shooting were shot over a period of six months, exclusively on weekends), the filmmakers and the 22-person crew around Stefan Weiß created a crime comedy that, due to its length, is far beyond ordinary short films.

particularities

20 years after shooting a music clip for Gloria Estefan , no one was allowed to shoot in the legendary Munich gourmet restaurant Tantris. It opened its gates exclusively for Rosenstiehl and thus enabled the only film recordings with a feature film to date in the noble gourmet temple.
