Rosneath ( Scottish Gaelic Ros Neimhidh ) is a peninsula in the Scottish Unitary Authority Argyll and Bute .

geography

The Rosneath Peninsula extends from Garelochhead about ten kilometers in a southerly direction and widens from a width of two to about four kilometers. To the east it is bounded by the inlet Gare Loch to Garelochhead. To the west, the inlet Loch Long, up to four kilometers wide, separates Rosneath from the Cowal Peninsula . To the south, the towns of Gourock and Greenock are on the opposite side of the Firth of Clyde . The peninsula is only sparsely populated. The villages stretch along the coast and are connected to one another via the B833. Starting to the north in a clockwise direction are Garelochhead, Clynder , Rosneath , Kilcreggan , Cove and Coulport .

Located on Rosneath eight monuments of the highest Scottish monument category altogether A. The other one in Clynder Villa Gareloch House dates from 1817. In the area of Rosneath are the Villa Ferry Inn , the St Modan's Parish Church and to Rosneath Castle related buildings Rosneath Find Home Farm and the Bathhouse of Rosneath Castle . The Villa Glen Eden , built in neo-Romanesque style, is located in Kilcreggan . The Knockderry Castle and the Craig Ailey mansion are in Cove.
