The Rossiya ( Russian Россия ) (formerly Sovetskaya Rossiya (1979–2003), Rossiya (1978–1979)) is a river cruise ship that was built in 1978 in the GDR in the VEB Elbewerften Boizenburg / Roßlau and to the Vladimir-Ilyich- Class , German designation - BiFa 125М (inland passenger ship 125 meters) - belongs.

history

The launch of the Rossiya , which was built under construction number 334, took place on July 15, 1977 in the GDR in VEB Elbewerften Boizenburg / Roßlau . In 1978 the river cruise ship was handed over to the GURF of the Ukrainian SSR ( Soviet Union ) in Kiev . Around 1979 the Rossiya was renamed Sovetskaya Rossiya .

After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the Sovetskaya Rossiya was operated by local Ukrainian companies on the Dnepr until it was taken over by MosTurFlot and renamed again in February 2003.

In the winter of 2006/2007, the ship was modernized and converted in Romania before it was bought by a US shipping company and used by the Grand Circle Cruise Line ( USA ) on the Volga , Volga-Balt and Neva on the St. Petersburg - Mandrogi - route . Kizhi - Goritsy - Uglich - Moscow was used.

Furnishing

The 110 cabins of the half-de-lux class are equipped with shower, toilet, refrigerator and satellite TV. There is a restaurant, two bars and an event room on board.
