Rossy de Palma
Rossy de Palma (born September 16, 1964 in Palma de Mallorca ; actually Rosa Elena Garcia Echave ) is a Spanish actress .
Life
Rossy de Palma is an actress and singer. She worked with directors Robert Altman , Mike Figgis and Terry Gilliam . She became known through her appearances in the films of Pedro Almodóvar . The legend tells that he discovered the singer and dancer in 1986 in a Madrid cafe; it is correct that both moved in the same "soup" during this time. De Palma, who was in a relationship with fellow actor Santiago Lajusticia for eight years, has two children.
Rossy de Palma was nominated twice for the Goya as best supporting actress: 1994 for Kika and 1996 for La flor de mi secreto . In 1994 she and her ensemble colleagues received the NBR Award in the Best Acting By An Ensemble category for their participation in the film Prêt-à-Porter . In 1998, de Palma was the winner of the special award at the Locarno International Film Festival for the film Hors jeu . In 2011 she took part in the first season of the French dance show Danse avec les stars .
In 2018 she was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
