action

The gangster Moltès served his prison term almost - except for 41 days - when he won 15 million euros in the lottery. As every week, Pauline, the wife of his caretaker Reggio, handed in the lottery ticket. When Reggio is said to be on sick leave the morning after the lucky lottery news, Moltès suspects something is bad and flees. But Reggio did not intend to pile up with the money; his wife has left for Africa and he cannot find the bill anywhere. When Moltès shows up, he kidnaps him. Together they go looking for Pauline and the lottery ticket.

When they arrive at the airport in Africa, they are already expecting the killers of the former gangster colleague von Moltès - who is known as "the Turk" - who has unfortunately just been released. The killers manage to lure Moltès and Reggio into their car. During a fictitious pee break, Moltès and Reggio run away in the car - just as the killers had planned, they placed a bomb under the car. However, they screw it up to explode, and so Moltès and Reggio soon come to a camp of the rally Pauline works for. After finding out that Pauline is in the next camp, they overpower a driver and his co-driver and start the next section of the rally in their place. When Moltès needs a break, Reggio takes the wheel and soon he digs the car in the desert sand. So they spend the night in the desert and the next morning they are surprised by hostile nomads who take Reggio's bum bag with them. They meet a traveling dealer, with whose cell phone they call a friend of Pauline's, who finally gives them Pauline's phone number.

Meanwhile, “the Turk” and his assistant, “the giant”, have also arrived in Africa and are looking for Reggio and his wife. They manage to steal a quad from a participant in the rally , with which they then wander through the desert. At some point they too will be surrounded by nomads. The nomads hang the Turks upside down on a scaffold and tie the giant to it. Coincidentally, Pauline arrives at their place and she and her helpers treat them both. When Reggio calls his wife Pauline, she tells them that the lottery ticket is in Reggio's bum bag. The Turk noticed this too. The Turk then shoots Pauline's helper and calls Reggio. The two agree to exchange Reggio's wife for the lottery ticket at the mosque in the next town.

Once there, Moltès and Reggio seek out a dealer who buys and sells stolen goods. There they catch the nomad with the bum bag. This flees with the bag, pursued by Moltès. Reggio takes this opportunity to gossip to the dealer, who now learns that there is a lottery ticket worth 15 million euros in his pocket. Shortly after the arrival of the two protagonists, the Turk and his assistant check in by chance at the same hotel, where the showdown between them and the dealer who wanted to buy the bum bag takes place. Just at the moment when both the bag and Pauline are fought, the police arrive and arrest Moltès after a chase. Reggio manages to escape with his wife Pauline and frees Moltès with the help of a huge army of mercenaries , for whom almost the entire lottery win is wasted.

Reviews

"Over-the-top buddy movie full of slapstick, action and stunts, which doesn't put the genre under any highlights, but entertains with the wit of the two main actors."

“This French Warner co-production is a highly weird action film with a bizarre buddy story about a tough gangster and a clumsy prison guard, which has already seen over 2.5 million visitors in the country of manufacture in four weeks. The two directors Alain Berbérian and Frédéric Forestier rely entirely on spectacular special effects and solid typing of the characters. Fast-paced adventure cinema for all fans of breathtaking entertainment. "
