Toc Toc (German: "Macke Macke") is a Spanish comedy film from 2017. It was based on the book and play of the same name by the French author Laurent Baffie.

action

At the beginning, in alternating sequences, the film shows the lives of several people who apparently all suffer from various obsessive-compulsive disorders. The six protagonists meet, one by one, in the waiting room of the internationally known doctor, Dr. Palomero, for the therapy of their "malfunction" on each other. First, the taxi driver meets Emilio (compulsory counting and calculation), he was abandoned by his girlfriend because of his Diogenes syndrome , who was still counting the steps to the practice, and he met Blanca, a laboratory assistant who suffers from mysophobia and an extreme panic , in the stairwell from viruses and bacteria and has to wash excessively after each touch. In the waiting room she meets Federico, who is already waiting, a 60-year-old who suffers from Tourette's syndrome and would have liked to become a lawyer, but considered it pointless due to his illness. Unintentionally, all kinds of profanity slip away from him, often accompanied by obscene gestures.

After a long wait, the waiting people complain and it turns out that, due to a system error in the appointment program, everyone received the same appointment. Dr. However, Palomero is not there yet, as explained to them by the program-struggling receptionist Tiffany. His flight is delayed and she asks patients to be patient. Those waiting join the vain Ana María with control and religious compulsion, which expresses itself through constant prayer and crossing herself; Otto, a young man obsessed with symmetry who is unable to step on the joints in the sidewalks or the lines on the carpet in the waiting room, and finally Lili, a young girl and fitness trainer who is simultaneously affected by palilalie and echolalie .

Due to their peculiarities and the fact that everyone perceives the quirk of the other as extremely annoying, annoying or even funny, a tense atmosphere initially builds up over time, but this also leads to involuntarily funny and thus relaxing situations. Little by little, the patients open up to each other and talk about their ordeal. It is noticeable that in the course of the stories those affected “forget” their compulsions, and group therapy takes place without a therapist. After everyone has realized how to overcome their constraints, they leave the practice together late in the evening, Dr. Palomero has still not arrived. You decide to found a self-help group and see each other again. Federico re-enters the practice and is called Dr. Palomero greeted. He asks whether she got through the afternoon well and would help him again with the next "group therapy". She replies that that wouldn't be a problem for her as an actress and that she enjoyed the role. After this successful attempt, you schedule another “unwanted group therapy” for the coming week. At the end, the viewer is given a little insight into the expected patients and their quirks.
