Roswitha Meyer (born May 10, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress .

life and career

In 1980 Meyer began a four-year dance training at the Mitterhuber Ballet School in Vienna. She then took private acting lessons and attended the Sam Cayne musical class for acting, singing and dance at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna .

Meyer was on stage for the first time at the Theater Gruppe 80 Vienna, later at the Theater in der Drachengasse, at the Vienna Volkstheater and at the Theater in der Josefstadt . Further engagements followed at the Braunschweig State Theater , the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel and the Festival in Feuchtwangen . She gained her first film experience in the ORF multi-part series Xander Vrüpp at the side of Ossy Kolmann and Waltraud Haas . Numerous film and television roles followed, including television experience in Tatort . She also became known through the series Medicopter 117 , where she spent five years with Dr. Karin Thaler played. She also takes part in staged readings by well-known writers such as Arno Schmidt and Friederike Mayröcker .

Meyer lives with her daughter in Vienna. The 1.70 m tall actress speaks German , English , French , Italian and Spanish .
