Rotblond is a female singing duo, consisting of the singers Kerstin Merlin and Melanie Wolf .

Band history

Kerstin Merlin and Melanie Wolf have known each other since they were 10 years old. Both completed eight years of training at the State Ballet School in Berlin, each of which they left with the qualification as a state-approved stage dancer. Kerstin Merlin then took 3rd place in the mdr casting competition “Voice 99” and then started a career as a singer, while Melanie Wolf went to the Staatstheater Cottbus in 1998 as a dancer and in 2000 to the German TV Ballet . From 2004 to 2012 Melanie Wolf was the first solo dancer of the Deutsches Showballett Berlin . From 2013 to 2017 Melanie Wolf was the prima ballerina of the German TV Ballet. Melanie Wolf danced in over 350 television productions, including 68 episodes of the Eurovision show Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel , in 18 episodes of the Eurovision show Feste der Volksmusik with Carmen Nebel, in the Eurovision show Feste der Volksmusik with Florian Silbereisen , in Wetten, dass ..? , in the ZDF anniversary show “50 Years of ZDF” and the “José Carreras Gala” on ARD. Melanie Wolf has made guest appearances at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Paris Moulin Rouge , among others . After Kerstin Merlin and Melanie Wolf had lost sight of each other, they met again in 2016 and decided to found a singing duo and named it red-blonde in reference to their hair colors (Kerstin = red, Melanie = blonde). Rotblond describes itself as a modern pop hit duo and combines modern hits with poppy choreographies.

In 2017 Rotblond recorded the first song “Whoever loves, wins” with the Berlin music producer Mathias Roska, who also produces Andreas Gabalier and Nik P.

Melanie Wolf and Kerstin Merlin's first TV appearance as the red-blonde duo with “Whoever loves, wins” was on March 25, 2017 in the Eurovision show “Schlagercountdown - The big premiere party” with Florian Silbereisen .
