Rothhof is a wasteland in the Upper Franconian town of Bad Staffelstein in the Lichtenfels district .

Rothhof is located about two kilometers northeast of Bad Staffelstein am Main . The state road 2204 leads south past the place.

history

Rothhof was first mentioned in a document in 1351 in an arbitration award between Wolfram von Redwitz and Kloster Banz regarding the communities Draisdorf , Nedensdorf and "czu Rod". In 1426 the estate was named “on the Rode” as a fiefdom of the Bamberg cathedral chapter . In 1508 there was the card entry “Zigelhütten”. In 1650 the place was described as "Wiese Vnterhalb der Ziegelhütten next to the Main vnd Rodt Anger" and in 1801 as Roth, "an estate between Staffelstein and Unnersdorf on the beautiful Wiesgrunde, with a house, barn, a brickworks and other belongings, belongs with all the righteous to the Office Staffelstein, where it is also parish. The Mayn River once passed next to this brick hut. "

In 1854 the settlement was at number 250 in Staffelstein and was first named Der Rothhof. It consisted of a house with a brick hut. In 1862 Rothhof belonged to Staffelstein and to the newly created Bavarian District Office Staffelstein .

In 1871 Rothhof had seven residents and five buildings. The Catholic school and the responsible Catholic parish were in Staffelstein, two kilometers away. In 1900, 16 people lived in the hamlet in four residential buildings and in 1925 three people and in one residential building. The responsible Protestant parish was in Herreth, 6.5 kilometers away . In 1950 Rothhof had four residents and one residential building. In 1970 the desert had four inhabitants, in 1987 five inhabitants and a house with two apartments.

On July 1, 1972, the Staffelstein district was dissolved and Rothhof has belonged to the Lichtenfels district ever since .
