Draisdorf is a district of the Upper Franconian market Ebensfeld in the Lichtenfels district .

geography

Draisdorf is located on the western slope of the Eierberge am Weizenbach, in a side valley of the Itzgrund . The place is located in the Banzgau , an elongated triangle between the Itz and the Main , south of Banz Monastery and is crossed by the district road LIF 17.

history

The place name "Drewichesdorf" was first mentioned in the 9th century in the traditions of the Fulda Abbey , which are based on a copy in the Codex Eberhardi from the 12th century. The next mention was in 1227 as "Drewistorf" in a judgment.

In 1801 the place was part of the territory of the Bamberg Monastery , to which the tithe and tax were due. The bailiwick, village, community and fiefdom belonged to the Banz monastery . The diocese of Würzburg provided the responsible pastor in Döringstadt and the spiritual jurisdiction . Monastery Banz had two farms in Draisdorf, in addition there was a community pastoral house, a house with an economy and brewing justice and 13 half estates and Sölden built with a house and barn.

In 1862 the predominantly Catholic Draisdorf was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian District Office Staffelstein . The predominantly Protestant hamlet of Merkendorf was part of the community .

In 1871 Draisdorf had 110 residents and 55 buildings. The Catholic school was located in Eggenbach, 2.0 kilometers away, and the responsible Catholic church was 3.5 kilometers away in Döringstadt . In 1900, the two places of the rural community covered an area of ​​406.33 hectares, 111 residents and 21 residential buildings. 90 people lived in Draisdorf in 18 residential buildings and in 1925 99 people lived in 15 residential buildings. The responsible evangelical parish and school was in Herreth . In 1950 Draisdorf had 116 residents and 14 residential buildings. In 1970 the parish had 75 inhabitants, in 1987 a total of 74 inhabitants and 18 houses with 19 apartments. In 1928 the municipality had land consolidation carried out for the first time. On July 1, 1972, the Staffelstein district was dissolved. Draisdorf became part of Eggenbach and incorporated into the Lichtenfels district. The Merkendorf part of the municipality came to the Coburg district . Since January 1st, 1978 Draisdorf belongs to Ebensfeld as a district.

The Catholic branch church St. Michael was built between 1953 and 1955.
