Prächting is a district of the Upper Franconian market Ebensfeld in the Lichtenfels district .

geography

Prächting is located in a hill country east of the main valley . The place is arranged in an east-west direction and is traversed by the Kellbach , a left tributary of the Main, and the side arm of the Zeitelbach. The state road in 2187 by Eben field after Scheßlitz through Prächting.

history

A burial ground on the outskirts shows settlement in the Iron Age . The first documented mention of Prächting was in 802, when the brothers Gerhart and Ippin bequeathed goods in “uillis”, including “Bratingum”, to the Fulda monastery for their salvation. The next mention was 1071. At that time a property in "Brehtingen" was exchanged for the Trilappsmühle. The place name, which was changed from Prechting to Prächting in 1875, goes back to a personal name. Prächting belonged to the bishopric of Bamberg , which exercised rulership of the village, land and parish with the cathedral chapter. In 1751 the village owned a community center with a forge and a shepherd's house. There were eight Veitsberger or Kleukheimer parish fiefdoms , seven Lichtenfelser box fiefdoms of the bishopric, three fiefdoms of the Bamberg Katharinen-Spital, three fiefdoms of the monastery Langheim , three fiefdoms of the monastery Banz , twenty fiefdoms of the Bamberg cathedral chapter, one Staffelsteiner parish fiefdom, one Scheßlitz parish fiefdom , a fiefdom of the Heppenstein farmers, a Schönborn fiefdom, a fiefdom of the Carmelite monastery, a fragment and an omission fief.

In 1862 Prächting was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office in Staffelstein . The rural community belonged to the Staffelstein District Court. One part of the community was the former wasteland of Hahnhof .

In 1871 Prächting had 368 residents and 234 buildings. A Catholic school and a branch church were in the place. In 1900, the two places of the rural community Prächting covered an area of ​​502.08 hectares, 353 residents, all of whom were Catholics, and 66 residential buildings. 346 people lived in 65 residential buildings in Prächting and in 1925 335 people lived in 64 residential buildings. In 1950 Prächting had 454 residents and 64 residential buildings. In 1970 the parish village had 344 inhabitants, in 1987 341 inhabitants and 85 houses with 98 apartments.

In 1938 the parish became an independent parish. On July 1, 1972, the Staffelstein district was dissolved. Prächting came to the Lichtenfels district . In 1978 the Prächting community was incorporated into Ebensfeld.

Hankirche

The Catholic Hankirche is located on a hill above the village. The parish and pilgrimage church dates from the 18th century. The sandstone block structure has a slightly indented choir and a tower with a curved twin dome.

Half-timbered buildings mark the historic town center. The list of architectural monuments in Prächting includes eight sights.
