Erlhof is a district of the Upper Franconian market Ebensfeld in the Lichtenfels district .

geography

Erlhof is located in the Banzgau , a long triangle between the Itz and the Main , south of Banz Monastery , on a plateau south near Eggenbach . Six farms characterize the hamlet , which is located off a major communal road. The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .

history

The first documentary mention was in 1251, when Pope Innocent IV confirmed the ownership of the Michelsberg monastery , including the place "Erlebach". In the 14th century there was a temporary abandonment of the place. The lords of Marschalk ruled the village from the 15th century until the 18th century . During the period there were a number of businesses around Erlhof.

In 1801 Erlhof was part of the Bamberg monastery area . Bailiwick and feudal lord was the cathedral chapter in Bamberg . The diocese of Würzburg provided the responsible pastor in Döringstadt and the spiritual jurisdiction . Erlhof had four Protestant farm owners at the time.

In 1862 Erlhof was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office of Staffelstein as part of the municipality of Eggenbach . The rural community belonged to the district court of Seßlach .

In 1871 Erlhof had 36 residents and 25 buildings. The Protestant school and church district were in Lahm, 3.5 kilometers away . In 1900, the two places of the rural community Eggenbach covered an area of ​​533.48 hectares. In Erlhof, 32 people lived in 5 residential buildings and in 1925 34 people lived in 6 residential buildings. The responsible Catholic parish was in Döringstadt . In 1950 Erlhof had 47 residents and 6 residential buildings. In 1970 the hamlet had 27 inhabitants and in 1987 a total of 24 inhabitants and 6 residential buildings with 6 apartments.

On July 1, 1972, the Staffelstein district was dissolved. Erlhof was incorporated with Eggenbach into the Lichtenfels district. Erlhof has belonged to Ebensfeld as a district since January 1st, 1978.
