The Rottmünde is a 9.9 km long, right or eastern tributary of the Weser in the district of Holzminden in Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

The Rottmünde rises in the western part of the Solling low mountain range . Its source lies west-southwest of the village of Neuhaus in Solling , a district of Holzminden, through which it does not flow . It is located in the wooded area of ​​the Boffzen State Forest in the nature reserve Kleines Bruch and Düsteres Bruch on the Dreygrundsweg forest path at about 395  m above sea level. NN .

The Rottmünde flows mainly westward along the state road  549 through the Solling and the Boffzen state forest , passes the settlement of Rottmünde and reaches the Upper Wesertal when leaving the Solling .

In this river valley , the Rottmünde flows under the disused railway line Holzminden-Scherfede and directly after flowing through Boffzen at around 88  m above sea level. NN into the Weser coming from the south and flowing to the North Sea ( Weser river kilometer 66.1).
