Route 9 is an American thriller from 1998 directed by Davis Mackay.

Police officers Booth Parker and Earl Whitney found $ 1.5 million at the scene of a drug delivery failure. Since everyone involved is dead, the two withhold the banknotes. You decide to bury the money and wait for the matter to grow. But it soon turns out that one of the dead was an undercover agent. The drug search turns on. When coroner Jesse Segundo tries to blackmail Parker and Whitney, the situation grows more precarious. Parker and Whitney also fail to keep their agreement and prematurely spend part of the money they find.
When Parker's lover is shot, he sees no point in moving on. Whitney refuses to accept that and shoots him to flee alone with the money. But in the hiding place he only finds one letter from Parker: he had moved the money to another location to avoid Whitney taking it again prematurely.
When Whitney tries to evade arrest, he is shot dead by a drug investigation officer.
