The Route nationale 8a (RN 8a) is a 119 km long, unpaved national road in the west of Madagascar in the Melaky province . It begins in Maintirano as an extension of the RN 19 . The RN 1b branches off a few kilometers to the east . The RN 8a continues in a south-easterly direction to Antsalova , where it merges into the RN 8 .
