The Rowa Group (formerly ROWA GmbH) is a chemical company based in Pinneberg . Products are in particular plastics and plastic additives such as engineering plastics, color and additive masterbatches in granulate and liquid form, chemical agents for the coating and impregnation of plastics and textiles; Propellants , primers and adhesion promoters , chemical resins and their derivatives in their raw state as well as additives . The majority of the company is owned by Georg Nordmann Holding GmbH, based in Hamburg .
history
The company was founded in 1958 as the rubber processing company ROWA Rohstoff Wasch- und Aufbereitungswerk GmbH in Seevetal . In 1969, due to changes in the market, the range of products on offer was realigned to special coatings for PVC and PU-coated fabrics.
The product range was expanded in 1978 to include color and additive masterbatches . With the integration of Tramaco GmbH in 1979, the areas of primer systems, blowing agent compounds, resins and waxes were covered.
Founded and run as a family business, a branch was opened in the USA in 1987. After the requirements and possibilities in the plastics industry increased steadily, the production of technical plastics and blends with ROMIRA GmbH was started in 1990.
Further branches in France, Korea and, since 2011, in Beijing followed. With the establishment of ROWASOL GmbH, the production was supplemented by liquid colors and additives for coloring plastics, and a suitable dosing concept was developed.
The related product ranges of the different companies and the growth required the restructuring of ROWA GmbH in 2010 into the ROWA GROUP Holding GmbH as an umbrella company, as well as the new foundations of ROWA Masterbatch GmbH and ROWA Lack GmbH.
