Roy Jenson

Roy Jenson (born February 9, 1927 in Calgary , † April 24, 2007 in Los Angeles ) was an American actor and stuntman .

Life

Jenson's family moved to Los Angeles when he was a child. He did his military service in the United States Navy on a destroyer in the Pacific during World War II . In 1951 he made his bachelor's degree in geography at the University of California at Los Angeles , for which he also competed in American football . He then turned pro in Canadian football , playing for the Calgary Stampeders and the Montreal Alouettes . He also worked as a stunt double, including for Robert Mitchum in Fluß without Return . Here he was often used as an extra or in small supporting roles, including as a nameless sailor in Edward Dmytryk's The Caine was her fate . Over time, he shifted his focus from working as a stuntman and only worked as an actor, but was mostly not mentioned in the credits until well into the 1960s. In the 1960s he had many guest roles in television series , including such successful formats as Auf der Flucht (television series) , Solo for ONCEL and Raumschiff Enterprise . In 1969 he worked on Westwärts der Wind for the first time together with Clint Eastwood , followed by five other joint films by 1982 in which Jenson played some major supporting roles. In the early 1970s he played in Getaway with Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw , year 2022 ... who want to survive next to Charlton Heston and Edward G. Robinson and Roman Polanski's Chinatown next to Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway . Between 1972 and 1984 Jenson appeared in four John Milius films.

Jenson has been married twice. From his first marriage he had three children, all of whom work in show business. His son Martin received an Oscar nomination for Best Sound for The King's Speech in 2011 , while sons Morgan and Sasha work as scriptwriters and actors , respectively . In his second marriage, Jenson was married to the actress Marina Petrowa , whom he met while filming Broken Chains in Europe, until his death . His brother was the special effects artist George Jenson , who worked on, among other things, Return of the Jedi .
