Ruch Młodej Polski

Ruch Młodej Polski (German: Movement of Young Poland ) was a Polish opposition anti-communist youth organization that emerged in Gdansk in July 1979 from the Zespół Inicjatywy Obywatelskiej (German: Citizens' Initiative Group ). Most of the members come from the environment of the student priest Ludwik Wiśniewski and were also active in the movement for the defense of human and civil rights (ROPCiO).

Founding members of the Ruch Młodej Polski were among others Aleksander Hall , Marek Jurek , Arkadiusz Rybicki and Jacek Bartyzel .

The aim of the organization was the protection of human and civil rights, as well as the fight for national Polish interests and Polish culture . The Ruch Młodej Polski was mainly active in Gdansk , Posen , Łódź , Warsaw , Lublin , Stettin and Krakow and was dissolved in 1989/1990 after the members joined the newly established parties such as Christian National Association (ZChN), Democratic Union (UD) or Forum of the Democratic Right.

The leader of the RMP was Aleksander Hall . The magazines Bratniak (1977–1981) and Polityka Polska (1982–1991) also belonged to the environment of the Ruch Młodej Polski .
