Rudolf Alberth

Rudolf Alberth (spelling until the 1950s: Albert) (born March 28, 1918 in Frankfurt am Main ; † May 29, 1992 in Munich ) was a German conductor and composer .

Alberth was heavily involved in contemporary music, especially with Bayerischer Rundfunk , and conducted numerous premieres at home and abroad. In the 1950s he worked a. a. with Olivier Messiaen in Paris and conducted the world premiere of Messiaen's composition Oiseaux exotiques at the Théâtre Marigny on March 10, 1956. In 1964 Alberth was appointed chief conductor of the Lower Saxony Symphony Orchestra in Hanover , which he held until the orchestra was dissolved at the end of the 1967 concert season / 1968 headed.

Rudolf Alberth left numerous recordings, including his own works, in the BR archive; In addition, commercial recordings are available from Telefunken and the French Club de Disques .
