Rudolf Brockhausen

Rudolf Brockhausen (born March 2, 1805 in Lemgo , † January 16, 1888 in Horn-Bad Meinberg ) was a German Reformed clergyman .

Life

Rudolf Brockhausen was born on March 2nd, 1805 in Lemgo as the son of pastor Georg Heinrich Brockhausen. After he received his preparatory training at the local grammar school , in 1823 he first moved to the University of Halle to study Protestant theology. He also attended the universities of Basel and Marburg , and finished his studies in 1827. He then worked as a private tutor until he became headmaster in Blomberg in 1829 . Ten years later he also took up a position as an auxiliary preacher . Appointed second pastor to Horn-Bad Meinsberg in 1844, he was promoted to first pastor in 1871. With this office he died there on January 16, 1888 at the age of 82.
