Rudolf Klaffenböck
Rudolf Klaffenböck (* 1952 in Passau ) is a photographer , cabaret artist , writer and documentary filmmaker .
Career
Klaffenböck studied graphic design at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich . He became known regionally in 1980 with the cabaret "Passauer Abende" together with Bruno Jonas , Elmar Raida and Sigi Zimmigart . Between 1981 and 1989 he also appeared with the solo cabaret programs Passauer Pfarrfamilienabend and Bayern-Express . At the same time he made short films such as Ash Tuesday about Franz Josef Strauss as a candidate for chancellor in the Passau Nibelungenhalle or Oberammergau , in which he played at the Passion Playwhen false Jesus appeared. In 1990 and 1993 Klaffenböck created two TV documentaries for ARD with Bonnopoly about the Federal Press Ball and Hurray, Long Live the War on Militaria .
From 1994 to 1996, Klaffenböck hiked 100 days over a total of 1300 km along the former Iron Curtain on the Austrian border with the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia. He documented his experiences in image and sound recordings and processed them in the book GRENZiegen .
From 2002 to 2004 Klaffenböck documented the last years of the Nibelungenhalle up to its demolition. The pictures from a wide variety of events such as political Ash Wednesday , erotic fairs, the Christmas market or student celebrations were exhibited from December 2005 to March 2006 in the Museum of Modern Art .
In 2007, Klaffenböck was awarded the “Dr. Franz and Astrid Ritter Foundation for Fine Arts ”. At € 15,000, the prize is one of the most highly endowed art prizes in Germany.
