Rudolf Kreutner (born October 23, 1954 in Schweinfurt ) is a German historian .

Life

After attending grammar school in his hometown, he completed a degree in history and social anthropology in Erlangen and Aberdeen ( Scotland ) , which he completed in 1986 with a Magister Artium .

Since 1987 he has been the custodian of the poetic estate of Friedrich Rückert and of the partial estates from the Bertuch and Froriep families belonging to the "Rückert Collection" for the city of Schweinfurt . In 1996 he was also entrusted with the management of the Rückert-Gesellschaft eV by the city of Schweinfurt .

Since 1998, together with Hans Wollschläger, he has published the historical-critical edition of Friedrich Rückert's works - the ›Schweinfurt Edition‹ - which is made up of 50 volumes. Claudia Wiener ( Munich ) and Hartmut Bobzin (Erlangen) have been co-editors since 2008 .

In 2005 he was accepted into the Pegnese Flower Order , in 2006 an honorary doctorate from the Philosophical Faculty of the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg .
