Claudia Wiener

Claudia Wiener (born August 19, 1964 in Schweinfurt ) is a German classical philologist .

Wiener studied classical philology at the universities of Würzburg and Siena from 1983 to 1990 . In 1994 she received her doctorate with the dissertation " Friedrich Rückert's 'De idea philologiae' as poetry-theoretical writing and life program" and then worked until 2000 as a research assistant at the University of Würzburg. After her habilitation (2002), she was appointed professor at the University of Munich in 2003.

Her main research interests are Latin literature from the imperial era, text transmission and poetry of the early modern period.

Claudia Wiener is one of the editors of the historical-critical edition of the works of Friedrich Rückert .
