Rudolf Schmid (born July 29, 1894 in Glarus ; † March 14, 1989 ibid), reformed , resident in Glarus and Schwanden , was a Swiss politician (General Civil People's Party of the Canton of Glarus).

Rudolf Schmid, son of the dentist Heinrich Schmid and the Regula nee Aebli, high school graduate at the Realgymnasium Rämibühl , then devoted himself to studying medicine at the University of Zurich , which he obtained in 1919 with the academic degree of Dr. med. completed. After completing further training in Vienna and at the Glarus Cantonal Hospital, he opened a medical practice in Ennenda in 1923 , which he managed until he retired in 1975. Rudolf Schmid - he was married to the doctor Barbara, daughter of the businessman Gabriel Schiesser - died in 1989 at the age of 94 in Glarus.

Rudolf Schmid - he joined the General Citizens' Party of the Canton of Glarus - was entrusted with the office of criminal judge in 1932, from 1933 he took a seat for his party in the Glarus District Administrator before he was elected to the Glarus Government Council in 1941 .
