Rudolf von Marschall (District Administrator)

Baron Rudolf Levin Marschall von Altengottern (born February 10, 1820 in Dresden ; † September 16, 1890 ) was a Prussian administrative lawyer , district administrator and politician (MdPrA).

origin

He came from the Thuringian noble family of the Marschalle from the Altengottern line . His parents were Baron Julius August Marschall von Altengottern (* May 17, 1799) and his wife Agnes Luise von Nostitz (* September 13, 1800; † May 17, 1875), a daughter of Gottlob Adolf Ernst von Nostitz and Jänkendorf .

Life

Marschall studied at the University of Leipzig and in 1841 became a member of the Corps Saxonia there . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. As a government clerk in the Government in Gumbinnen he was in 1857 District Administrator of the district Elk and was then from 1857 to 1890 District Administrator of the district Langensalza .

From 1855 to 1858 Marschall sat as a member of the Gumbinnen constituency 5 in the Prussian House of Representatives . He did not belong to any political group. On January 27, 1858, his mandate was declared expired. From 1867 to 1873 he sat for the constituency of Erfurt 3 (Langensalza, Weißensee, Mühlhausen) in the Prussian House of Representatives and belonged to the faction of the Conservative Party . From 1877 to 1890 he was a member of the Prussian manor house . He was also a member of the provincial parliament of the province of Saxony .

Marshal was a royal Prussian chamberlain , hereditary marshal of the Landgraviate of Thuringia and legal knight of the Order of St. John .

family

He married the baroness Anna Luise von Seebach (born July 26, 1827, † March 21, 1897). The couple had several children:

  • Wolf Rudolf (born September 26, 1855; † November 20, 1930), Prussian general of the cavalry ⚭ 1885 Countess Wilhelmine Auguste Marie von Rittberg (born September 2, 1866; † August 3, 1951)
  • Anna Gertrud (born February 25, 1858)
