Rudolph Schneider
Rudolph Schneider , also Rudolf (born January 1, 1876 in Glauchau , † January 14, 1933 in Dresden ) was a German economist , manager and politician ( DVP ).
Life and work
After attending primary school and graduating from high school in Dresden, Schneider studied economics at the University of Leipzig from 1897 to 1901 . From 1902 to 1906 he worked as a research assistant at the Dresden Chamber of Commerce and from 1906 to 1908 as an assessor at the Saxon State Statistical Office. After his doctorate as Dr. phil. he worked until 1919 as a lawyer for the Federation of Industrialists (BdI). From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . During the war he was deployed on the Western Front ( Vosges , Champagne , Flanders ) until 1917 , appointed captain in 1916 and decorated with several military medals, including the Iron Cross of both classes.
Schneider acted from 1919 to 1922 as managing director of the Reich Association of German Industry (RdI). In the following years he was a board member of the Association of Saxon Industrialists, in- house counsel of the Bondi & Maron bank in Dresden-Hosterwitz , commercial director of the stock corporation for industrial loans in Dresden-Wachwitz and managing director of business associations.

Schneider was a city councilor in Dresden from 1907 to 1909 . He joined the DVP after 1918 and was a member of the Saxon state parliament from 1922 to 1925 . In the Reichstag election in May 1924 he was elected to the German Reichstag , to which he belonged until his death, most recently as a member of the Technical Working Group (TA). In parliament he represented the constituency of Dresden-Bautzen.
