Rui Costa Reis (* 1968 in Cuanza Sul , Angola ) is a Portuguese-Angolan entrepreneur and Hollywood film producer.

Life

He was born in 1968 in the province of Cuanza Sul, the son of a Portuguese industrialist born in Angola and a mother from Porto who came to Angola as an infant. At the age of 18 he went to Portugal, where he studied business administration at the Universidade do Minho in Braga from 1986 to 1991 . After completing his studies, he returned to Luanda and became Vice-President of the Angolan Industry Association (AIA) in 1992. He is married to Miss Angola 2002, Giovana Pinto Leite, for the second time. He lives most of the year on his estate on the Ilha de Luanda peninsula .

Companies

When bread became scarce in Angola in 1993 due to a lack of flour, Costa took over the Moagem do Kikolo in Cacuaco , the largest flour mill in the country, which has been idle since independence. For the first time in decades, flour was produced in Angola again, which he marketed under the name Kianda . With his company Intercomercial , he also became the market leader in other cereal products and baby food. Before he was 30 years old, according to press reports, he had earned his first million euros with it. In 1999 he founded a real estate company that has so far built and sold several hundred properties. Setback

Costa suffered an economic setback in June 2019 when the National Institute for Consumer Protection of Angola (INADEC) discovered faecal residues from rats and cats in Kianda brand wheat flour and declared it unsuitable for human consumption.
