Rui Sandro de Carvalho Duarte (born October 11, 1980 in Lisbon ), called Rui Duarte , is a former Portuguese football player . The full-back played a total of 212 games in the Portuguese Primeira Liga , the Romanian Liga 1 and the Cypriot First Division .
Career
Rui Duarte's career began in 2003 when he was signed by second division GD Estoril Praia . There he was able to fight for a regular place and reached promotion to the SuperLiga with the club at the end of the season , where relegation followed in the following season . He then moved to league rivals Boavista Porto . After a year he moved to CF Estrela Amadora , where he was able to place with the club in midfield after relegation in 2007 in the following season .
In 2008 Rui Duarte left Portugal and moved to FC Brașov in Romania. In the summer of 2010, he went to league rivals Rapid Bucharest . With the capital club, he qualified for the Europa League at the end of the season . He was able to repeat this success a year later. At the same time he reached the cup final in 2012 , but lost there 0-1 to Dinamo Bucharest . In January 2013, he left Rapid for the Cypriot first division club Anorthosis Famagusta . There, his contract was terminated at the end of the year. It was not until the summer of 2014 that he found a new club in the Portuguese third division team SU 1º Dezembro . He ended his career in summer 2015.
