The Romanian Ice Hockey Cup , Romanian Cupa României la Hochei pe gheață has been held since 1969.

Participant and mode

At the discharge of the Romanian Ice Hockey Cup in 2002 took six of the seven teams in the last year's Romanian League part. As usual, the cup was played at the start of the season. It also served as a qualification for the new First Division, in which Dinamo Bucharest and Progym Gheorgheni qualified alongside the top teams Steaua Bucharest and SC Miercurea Ciuc. The winner in two groups qualified for the final. Group A consisted of the three Bucharest teams. The other teams played in group B. There was only one game without a second leg. The final was held in best-of-three mode .
