Ruotolo Peak

The Ruotolo Peak is a 2490  m high mountain in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . Immediately west of the California Plateau and the Watson Escarpment, it towers over the northern flank of the Griffith Glacier .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it using its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1967 after Lieutenant Commander Anthony P. Ruotolo, pilot of the VX-6 squadron during the operation Deep Freeze in 1966 and 1967.
