Rupert Hirner (born November 28, 1961 ) is a former Austrian ski jumper .

Athletic career

Hirner started between 1981 and 1985 in the Austrian jumping competitions for the Four Hills Tournament . At the Four Hills Tournament 1982/83 he also competed in both competitions in Germany . His best season was the 1982/83 season , in which he jumped into the overall World Cup standings for the first time by winning seven World Cup points and finally finished 50th together with Manfred Deckert and John Denney .

In 1989 Hirner completed his first bungy jump in Nanaimo . In 1990 others followed in Austria from the Präbichlbrücke and he founded the Rupert Hirner Bungy Jumping  GmbH. In 1992 he managed Austria's first 100 m jump from a hot air balloon as part of the Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen. Since 1993 he has organized bungy jumps, also over 100 meters for the public. On October 3rd of the same year Rupert Hirner jumped for the first time from the Europabrücke and on October 3rd of the following year from the Berlin television tower in front of over 100,000 spectators. Rupert Hirner is the managing director of Rupert Hirner Bungy Jumping. The company organizes bungy jumps from the Europabrücke, Kölnbreinsperre , Schlegeissperre , in Mondsee and from mobile bungy jump ramps.
