Ruslan Bekmirsajewitsch Jamadajew ( Russian Русла́н Бекмирза́евич Ямада́ев ; * December 10, 1961 in Gudermes ; † September 24, 2008 in Moscow ) was a Russian - Chechen politician.

Life

Jamadayev was a trained construction worker and was considered the political head of his family clan. Yamadayev and his clan took part in the First Chechen War (1994-1996) against Russia together with the Ramzan Kadyrov clan . During the Second Chechnya War , the Yamadayev clan, like the Kadyrov clan, switched to Russia. Yamadajew controlled the unit "Vostok" with his two brothers. Parts of the unit under the command of Ruslan's brother Sulim Yamadayev also took part in the Georgian conflict on the Russian side during August 2008. The Yamadayev and Kadyrov clan are falling apart, however. The power struggle particularly intensified before the end of Vladimir Putin's first term in office .

From 2003 to 2007, Yamadayev was a member of the Russian Duma for the United Russia party . On September 24, 2008, Ruslan Yamadayev was shot dead in his car.

In addition to politics, Ruslan Yamadayev also managed his clan's economic investments. This should include casinos and commercial real estate.

Honors

In 2004 he was named " Hero of the Russian Federation " by Vladimir Putin .
