Russel Alexander Nasir Taib (born April 5, 1998 ) is a Malaysian athlete who specializes in sprinting .

Athletic career

Russel Alexander Nasir Taib gained his first international experience in 2015 when he won the bronze medal in the 400-meter run in 49.07 seconds at the first Asian Youth Championships in Doha . He then failed at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Apia in the 100-meter run with 11.25 s in the first round, but made it to the semi-finals over 200 meters and was eliminated there with 22.76 s. In 2019 he reached the semi-finals at the Asian Championships in Doha in the 200-meter run , where he was eliminated with 21.75 seconds. He then started with the Malaysian 4 x 100 meter relay at the Summer Universiade in Naples and was eliminated there with 40.28 m in the lead. At the beginning of December he won the bronze medal over 200 meters behind the Thais Chayut Khongprasit and Siripol Punpa at the Southeast Asian Games Capas in 21.11 s and won the silver medal behind Thailand in 39.78 s with the relay.
