Super League (Russia)
The Russian Super League ( Russian Чемпионат России по хоккею с шайбой / Tschempionat Rossii po chokkeju s schajboj ) was the highest league in professional ice hockey in Russia from 1996 to 2008 . Here the title of the Russian master was played out. According to the North American National Hockey League , it was considered the most powerful league in the world. The Superliga was part of the Russian Pro- Hockey League , also called Russian Hockey League RHL, which consisted of two divisions, the Superliga and the Wysschaja Liga (Oberliga). The RHL Superliga was founded in 1996 and replaced in 2008 by the KHL Continental Hockey League .
