Ruth Marie Christelle Gbagbi (born February 7, 1994 in Abidjan ) is an Ivorian Taekwondoin .
Gbagbi played her first international title fights at the 2010 Junior World Championship in Tijuana , where she reached the second round in the class up to 52 kilograms. She also started at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore , but retired in the class up to 55 kilograms against Jade Jones in the opening fight . At the 2012 African Olympic qualification tournament in Cairo , Gbagdi reached the final against Seham Sawalhy in the class up to 67 kilograms and qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . There she reached seventh place. Her Olympic participation in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro , where she won the bronze medal , was more successful . In 2017 she became world champion in Muju .
