Ruth Patrick

Ruth Myrtle Patrick (* 26. November 1907 in Topeka , † 23. September 2013 in Lafayette Hill , Pennsylvania ) was an American botanist and Limnologin relating to diatoms and freshwater - ecology specialist. Patrick has developed methods to measure the health of freshwater ecosystems and she has founded several research institutes.

Patrick graduated from Sunset Hill Girls' School in Kansas City, Missouri , in 1925 . She then studied at the University of Virginia , where she received her PhD in 1934 .

Her botanical author abbreviation is RMPatrick .
