Ruth Zillger

Ruth Zillger (* around 1910) was a German operetta and pop singer ( soprano ).

Live and act

Zillger worked in Berlin and appeared in various theaters in the city in the early 1940s , such as the Theater des Volkes . In 1947 she played in the operetta Countess Mariza by Emmerich Kálmán ; the conductor was Walter Liebe . In the feature film Berliner Ballade (1948, directed by Robert A. Stemmle ) she played the role of a prostitute (alongside Brigitte Mira and Georgia Lind ). Zillger also took on a number of popular numbers such as waiting, just wait a while (with Otto Falvay ) or baby, It's Cold Outside (1950, with Ilja Glusgal ). During her recordings for Electrola she was a. a. accompanied by the orchestras of Hans Carste . In the post-war period she worked for many years in the Cologne Operetta Funk Ensemble , as well as with the NWDR Dance Orchestra and the Cologne Dance and Entertainment Orchestra under the direction of Franz Marszalek and Hermann Hagestedt . In 1950, she worked at WDR in the complete recording of the operetta Love in the triad of Walter Goetze led by Franz Marszalek with. She also performed with chansons written by Harald Banter .
