Ryan McPartlin
Ryan McPartlin (born July 3, 1975 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American actor . His best-known role is as Devon Woodcomb in the television series Chuck .
Life
McPartlin was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Glen Ellyn , a town near Chicago. There he attended Glenbard South High School . He studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign , where he was linebacker on the football team. After graduation, McPartlin spent half a year in Australia and New Zealand . He is a personal trainer . He has been married to actress Danielle Kirlin since October 26, 2002 and has two sons with her.
Career
McPartlin was a model for the Abercrombie and Fitch fashion label . His first role as an actor was in the television series The Nanny . He then had various guest roles in television series such as Jim , Still Standing and Hello Holly . From 2005 to 2007 he starred in the sitcom Living with Fran , in which he played the title character's far younger friend until the series was canceled. He was shortlisted for the role of Clark Kent and Superman in Superman Returns , but Brandon Routh was preferred.
From 2007 to 2012 he played Devon Woodcomb , better known as Captain Abgefahren (originally Captain Awesome ), in the television series Chuck .
